What is an escape room?

An escape room contains numerous puzzles and challenges that a team of participants must solve within the available time (60 minutes).  The puzzles require collaboration and creativity, which makes them fun, challenging, social, exciting, and helps foster positive relationships among the players.

Will I be locked in a room?

No, you will always be able to leave the room.

Are the escape rooms at Timed Out dark or scary?

Our rooms use theatrical lighting, which may be dark or dim at times.  The rooms are exciting and suspenseful, but not frightening or scary.

What if we get stumped or stuck?

Your group can always ask for help or a hint or some help.

What is your minimum age for players?

We welcome guests of all ages; however, our rooms are not “toddler safe” so you will need to closely monitor young children.  We require an adult in the room for groups of 14 and younger.  We do not charge for children under 7 with a paying adult.

Do I need a reservation to play?

Yes, you can reserve a room online or via phone.

Will I be in the room with people I don't know?

No.  All bookings are private, only your team will be in the room.

Do you offer birthday parties?

While we don’t have a party room or offer food, we welcome guests to use a table in our lobby for cupcakes or pizza for 30 minutes before or after your room. 

How many participants can play the rooms?

Our rooms can be booked up to 6 or 8, depending on the game.  We can go slightly above these numbers – call us to discuss.

Are cell phones permitted?

Yes, but we do not allow photos or videos during the game.

When should I arrive?

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your reserved room time to allow for getting checked in and listening to a quick team briefing to make the most of your experience.

What if I’m late?

If you are late, you will likely miss part of your experience.  If you book the 1:00 pm escape room, the room starts promptly at 1:00 pm just like a movie ticket.

What if I can't make my reservation?

If you purchased cancellation insurance and notify us at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled start time, we’ll be happy to reschedule or cancel your booking.  Canceled bookings will receive a refund of your deposit.  If you did not purchase insurance for your reservation, or fail to provide 24 hours’ notice, we cannot cancel or reschedule your booking. 

What should I wear?

While our games are not physically demanding, we recommend comfortable clothing and shoes.

I have a mobility impairment - can I play at Timed Out?

Yes.  Our doorways and spaces are roll-friendly.  Some of room elements may be difficult to see or reach (high or low), so you may have to rely on a teammate in a few instances.
