This week, Timed Out Escape co-founder Tina Burfield is heading to Memphis for PuzzolCon 2026 — the annual conference for escape room owners, by escape room owners.
The conference runs September 13–16, 2026 at Puzzol Creative Headquarters in Memphis, Tennessee. It’s one of the industry’s most important gatherings for people who design, operate, and grow immersive entertainment businesses.
What Tina Is Speaking About
Tina is hosting a workshop titled “Cocktails, Corporate, and Catering: Diversifying Your Bottom Line.”
The big idea: ticket sales keep the lights on, but real growth often happens before and after the game. Corporate events, catering, party packages, and extra experiences can turn a busy escape room into a stronger, more resilient business.
That’s a lesson we’ve lived at Timed Out Escape in Ballantyne. Families, birthday groups, date nights, and companies all use the same four private rooms — 51, Illusion, Precinct, and Inari — in different ways. The rooms stay the heart of the business. The packages around them help us serve more people well.
Why This Matters to Charlotte Guests
When we learn from other owners and share what works, guests feel it. Better events. Smoother group bookings. Stronger team-building programs. More ways to celebrate.
Tina and Chris Burfield opened Timed Out Escape in 2018 after careers in financial services and a shared love of escape rooms. Today the venue is a locally owned Ballantyne favorite with over 2,100 five-star Google reviews and a reputation for private, family-friendly rooms and Gallup-certified team building.
What Is PuzzolCon?
PuzzolCon is not a public consumer convention. It’s a working conference for owners and operators — workshops, vendor demos, networking, and time spent playing rooms together. The 2026 event is hosted at Puzzol Creative’s 25,000-square-foot headquarters at 5125 Elmore Road in Memphis.
